Romans 1:16 - First for the Jew

In the New Covenant, the distinction between Jew and Gentile has been eliminated:

Galatians 3:26,28 - You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus . . . There is neither Jew nor Greek . . . for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:13-15 - But now in Christ Jesus you [Gentiles] who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For [Christ] . . . has made the two [groups - Jews and Gentiles] one and has destroyed the barrier . . . His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two [groups] . . .

However, the New Covenant was first promised to the Jews (in around 600 B.C.)

Jeremiah 31:31 -  "The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah [that is, the Jews] . . .”

Perhaps it is for this reason, that Paul, as he traveled from town to town, always preached the gospel to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles

Acts 13:46 - Paul and Barnabas answered them [the Jews] boldly: "We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.
