Romans 1: 4 - Jesus’ Resurrection

•        Christ was resurrected jointly by the Father, Himself (the Son), and the Holy Spirit:

–      Acts 17:31 - For He [God the Father] has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man [Jesus] He has appointed. He [God] has given proof of this to all men by raising Him [Jesus] from the dead.

–      John 10:17-18 - [Jesus speaking:] The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life-- only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.

–      Romans 1:4 - [Jesus] through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

•        The resurrection of Jesus demonstrated before the world that He was who he claimed to be. Had Jesus not been raised from the dead He would have been shown to be a fraud!

–      1 Corinthians 15:17-18,20 - And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost . . .  But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
