Romans 5:14 – “pattern” [or “type”, NASB] (Greek:  tupoV  - tupos)

•       “A type is . . . A historical person, event, or object which, as designed by God, has an essential feature which corresponds to another person, event, or object yet future” (Wycliffe Bible Encyclopedia, Volume 2, p.1752)

•        Note: A type, in the Biblical sense of the term, is not a mere historical parallel or incidental resemblance between persons and events, but a designed resemblance - the one being intended to to prefigure or to commemorate the other.
