A type is . . . A historical person, event, or object
which, as designed by God, has an essential feature which corresponds to
another person, event, or object yet future (Wycliffe
Bible Encyclopedia, Volume 2, p.1752)
Note: A type, in the Biblical sense of the term, is not
a mere historical parallel or incidental
resemblance between persons and events,
but a designed resemblance - the one being intended to to prefigure or to commemorate the other.
