Romans
After telling us the standard by which the Jew and the Gentile will be judged, Paul tells us this judgement
will take place on a day, yet future.
Paul tells us that on that day God will judge mens secrets
Through Jesus Christ
As the Gospel that Paul Preached Declares
Note that the gospel includes both good news and bad news
The good news of the Gospel does not mean anything to someone who does not first understand the bad news!
Therefore, if we preach the good news of Gods salvation in Christ without first conveying the bad news of Gods judgement on the sins of all men,
we have not given an adequate presentation of the
Gospel!
The Bible teaches that every thought that we have had, every word that we have spoken,
and every deed that we have done will
be brought
to light and judged by God on that Day:
Matthew
Luke 12:2-3 - There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden
that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear
in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
2 Corinthians 5:10 - For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the
things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Hebrews 4:13 - Nothing in all creation is hidden
from God's sight Everything is uncovered and laid
bare before the eyes
of him to whom we
must give account.
